West University of Timișoara, Romania, together with the Confederation of European Probation (CEP) and National Probation Directorate are organizing The 8th International Conference – Multidisciplinary perspectives in the quasi-coercive treatment of offenders – SPECTO 2024: Designing the future of Criminal Justice system under the lens of technology, which will be hosted at the West University of Timișoara, Romania, during the 16th and 17th of May 2024.
The purpose of the Conference:
The 8th International Conference, titled “Multidisciplinary Perspectives in the Quasi-Coercive Treatment of Offenders – SPECTO 2024,” emerges as platform for uniting experts, practitioners, students and innovators in order to explore the intersections of justice, technology, and the treatment of offenders.
SPECTO 2024 aims to explore the multifaceted dynamics of quasi-coercive approaches in rehabilitating offenders while putting into use the potential of technologies. With a multidisciplinary lens, the conference seeks to see the multiple dimensions of the complexities inherent in the intersection of law, psychology, social work, sociology, ethics, and technological advancements in the context of criminal justice.
The conference serves as a thought-provoking discourse, fostering collaboration and innovation, offering an invaluable opportunity for networking and knowledge exchange but also endeavoring to inspire actionable strategies and policies that transcend boundaries, leading to a more just, equitable, and tech-informed approach in dealing with offenders within the realms of law and society.
